Mynster

Mynster serves as a documentary study of medieval cities and their historical sociological centers, featuring themes of medieval concepts of narrative, faith, mortality, and legacy. The project focused on locations across England, with special attention to  The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York. Through processes of fixation and dissection, the work explores the intentionality of various aspects of architecture and narrative art. Throughout the development of the project, intensive academic research into ideology, visual evolution, and modern conservation concerns encouraged deeper examination of the layered history of each location.  Within this project, the artist’s creative practice was cemented as an illustrative progression of intensive research.  This had led to greater understanding of analytical processes, connections with modern practices, and an established method of research.
